Dumb question, but does the chicken need to be cooked before putting it into the crock or can it go in raw?
Hi April….You know that saying there is no dumb question, well, we continue to live by that everyday. The chicken is not cooked before you place it in the crock pot. You will find most recipes do not want the meats cooked, some may want you to brown the meat, and for those recipes it does add flavor. Enjoy! and ……. Happy Crocking!
Can the chicken breasts be frozen when you put them in the Crock pot?
Hello Brittney, Yes…the chicken breast can be frozen when you put them in the crock pot. You may want to check them at the end of the time to make sure they are done, but most likely by them being on the bottom of the crock pot they will be done. It really depends on your crock pot….. Happy Crocking!
Going to try this this week. Also liked your FB page! Can’t wait to see what else you have in store.
When the food is done, do you shred the chicken or each it as a chicken breast?
Hello Alayna, yes you take two forks and pull the chicken breast apart to shred the chicken! Happy Crocking!

Making this for dinner tonight… Do you have to stir it at all or just let it cook and then mix it together when you shred the chicken?
So Sorry Rachel, I was working on a project and just saw you post, so I hope you found the meal delish! But no you don’t have to stir, just when you put the chicken back in the crock pot after you shred it! Happy Crocking!
This a GREAT dish! I love that it literally takes 5 minutes to mix everything together and dump it in the crockpot. I severed it with some garlic mashed potatoes and carrots. This is a perfect fall and winter YUMMY meal.
Thanks for the recipe.
