How many servings does this recipe make to come out to 285 calories per serving?
Hello Peggy! The serving size can be found on the upper right hand corner of the page of each recipe, but happy to share this recipe serves 8. Happy Crocking!
I was wondering if this recipe can be frozen for later use?
Thank you
Larry this is an excellent recipe to freeze! I like to use the freezer zipper bags, so I can date the bag and use them in about 3-4 months. I also double bag if the bags are pretty full! Hope this helps! Happy Crocking!
Do you use canned or fresh green beans?
I prefer fresh anything over canned, but sometimes it just works out that I need to use canned. 🙂
I make something so very close to this. You put some things in that I haven’t been but think I’ll try yours.
I like using Spicy V-8 and tomato sauce in place of tomato juice. You might like trying that.
Pinning it!!
Is there tomatoes in this? It looks like bits of red. Maybe tomatoes?
Hi Mary, I may have added tomatoes when I made the stew, in place of the tomato juice. Sometimes I use what I have on hand! Make this recipe your own and add what you would like to add! Happy Crocking!
With a few tweets to satisfy my personal preferences: such as tomato sauce with no additives or preservatives instead of juice (because I am not a fan of tomato juice) and cut up stew meat in bite size pieces instead of hamburger. Because I wanted it soupier, I added 1 cup of water. Also I used fresh green beans instead of canned. Finally I used 3 dashes of pepper sauce for the added kick. My husband loved this recipe!
Love it Kathleen when you make a recipe your own! Thanks for sharing! 🙂 Happy Crocking!
