- 3 lbs country-style boneless pork ribs
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 3/4 c. apple butter
- 3 T. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. liquid smoke (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1. Rub salt and pepper on ribs.
2. Place in crock pot.
3. Cover with onions.
4. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over onions.
5. Cover. Cook on low for 9 hours.

I made this last night and wow! So good! The only thing I did differently was instead of using ribs I used a bone in pork shoulder and turned it into pulled pork. Everything else was the same!
A few tips, I did this cause I dont like really super fatty/oily pulled pork:
When you go to remove the bone from the shoulder roast (about 5 hours in), go ahead and pull apart some of the meat and the larger fatty pieces should come off and you can go ahead and toss that out. And about an hour before you serve get a nice large serving spoon (not a slotted one) and skim off the clear fatty oil.
This made the BEST pulled pork sandwiches!
