Slow Cooker Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pudding Cake

Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. milk
1 T. oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
3 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water
ice cream of your choice

I love this Slow Cooker Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pudding Cake for so many reasons.  First – peanut butter & chocolate…need I say more?  But secondly, it’s made from ingredients that I always have in my pantry.  So if I get the itch to make dessert, there’s no running out to the grocery store.  I hope you and your family enjoy this easy and delicious dessert as much as mine does.

  1. Prepare the crock by spraying with cooking spray or buttering the sides and bottom!
  2. Combine flour, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder and baking powder.
  3. Add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in peanut butter and pour into slow cooker.
  5. Mix together remaining sugar and cocoa powder (1/2 c. sugar and 3 T. cocoa powder)
  6. Gradually stir in the boiling water.
  7. Pour this sugar, cocoa and boiling water mixture over the batter in the slow cooker. DO NOT STIR!
  8. Cover. Cook on High 2-3 hours, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Serve warm with ice cream of your choice.

Variation: Whipped topping is also great with this delicious cake.

Can you store this in the freezer if you can’t finish it all? This looks so yummy, but I live alone and there’s no way I can eat an entire crock of it in a few days.

Can this be cooked at night and be left put overnight then reheated the next day. I want to try this for work but I’m hoping it will be alright being left out over night.

Another question…my crockpot has 4 heating settings. 4hrs and 6hrs on high and 8hrs and 10 hrs on low. Since this recipe calls for 2-3 hrs should I put it on 4 hrs and just time 2-3 on my timer? Please respond ASAP. I’m in the middle of making it. Thank you

Found your page while in the hospital having major surgery. Just came home yesterday and have saved many of your recipes. Saw this today and I am feeling the need for my house to smell good even though it could still be weeks before I can eat. So when the kids get home (to get the crockpot out for me) this will be smelling good! Thanks for all your recipes!

Hi, I made this in my 4 quart oval cooker.
I think I would have been better off making it in a smaller round cooker though.

It was still yummy! However, the wider surface meant that the cake layer was quite thin and the sauce was the barest smudge across the bottom.

Looking forward to trying it again.

I made this tonight…it was SO GOOD!!! Like you said, it is so easy and made with stuff that is always on hand! I used a 6 quart slow cooker and did 1.5 times each ingredient and it worked out perfectly. Everyone absolutely loved this, and I will definitely be making it again. Thanks for another great recipe!
