If you like salmon you will LOVE this recipe for Slow Cooker Maple Salmon. It’s full of flavor, tender and really moist! (and SO Easy!)
- Place salmon pieces in a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker
- Mix the sauce ingredients and pour over salmon.
- Cover & Crock on HIGH for 1 hour. (increase to approx. 2 hours if using frozen fish)
Note: This salmon is good hot or cold. Serve hot over rice, or serve cold by crumbling over salad or pasta. YUM!

Made this tonight. Super easy and tasted great!
Hi! This sounds amazing. Just wondering..if using fresh salmon filets, instead of frozen, should I adjust the time? Thanks!
Hi Tiffany! The “1 Hour on High” refers to using fresh salmon. I would increase the crocking time by about an hour if you are using frozen salmon. Thanks so much & Happy Crocking!
I’m a bit confused. You say to cook on High for 1 hour to “frozen is fine” salmon. But here in the comments you say to reduced the time by an hour if using fresh salmon.
Can you please clarify the timing? Thanks!
Thanks for your question, Paula! I clarified the comment – sorry for any confusion I may have caused. Happy Crocking!
Hi
Your recipe sounds delicious.
1)If I wanted to cook the frozen salmon on low……..
how many hours should I cook it for in the crock pot.
2) Also, after it is done can I leave it on warm or do I have to turn it off.
Thank you,
Shelly
Hello Shelly, It is really hard to say how long to crock your salmon on Low, as it always depends on how a crock pot cooks. I would think it would be no more than 3 hours, but would definitely check it after 2 1/2 hours. Also you could leave it on warm for about 30 – 45 minutes, but I wouldn’t leave it to long, as you don’t want it to dry out. Hope this helps, and Happy Crocking!
Thank you
I made your recipe last night for my family and they loved it……. 🙂
Thank you again.

Fantastic my whole family loved it even my pickiest kids wanted seconds. Super easy and flavor is mild and completely takes the “fishy” taste away. Will definitely makes this again.
Do you use “real” maple syrup or Mrs. Butterworths 🙂
Kerl I suggest REAL maple syrup but you could use what you have on hand. Thanks & Happy Crocking!
Do you leave the skin on the fish while it cooks?
Hi Kristen, I do, and remove it when I serve it. It is really delicious! Happy Crocking! 🙂

This looks so good. Love salmon. McCormick Inspirations had a seasoning for Asian Salmon with 6 little packets to use plus honey, but I can’t find it here anymore. This is remarkably similar and I could sub some honey. Thanks for the recipe and the chance to resurrect a dinner I really liked.
Can I substitute honey for the maple syrup?
Beverly I love it when you make it your own… let us all know how it turned out.. Happy Crocking!
Have a question my crockpot is a 6qt. I believe will it take longer than and hour then for it to be done. Never done salmon in a crockpot before. I will post how it turns out. :).
I have a large crock pot, but want to make only 2 or three filets of salmon. Do you think it would be okay, or would the cook time need to decrease? Thank you!
Becky the key is to make sure your slow cooker is 1/2 to 2/3 full, so you definitely would want to decrease the time, and I would watch it closely. Happy Crocking!
ginger root from produce how o I mince it and should I peel the outer skin
Hi there – yes, you will need to peel it and you can mince with a grater/mincer or you can just chop it very finely. I keep mine in the freezer and pull out as needed. Happy Crocking!
Trying this tonight! Sounds soooo good.
Thank you for all these wonderful dishes! :9
How much ginger do you think you should use if not using fresh?
I have tried this recipe and loved it! Have you ever tried using the maple sauce with any other type of protein?
Pernia it is really good isn’t it, I am sure it would be good on other dishes as well. Let us hear how you use it the next time! 🙂
Would this be good using cod?
Hi Chrystal, I believe this recipe would be good using any fish! Make this recipe your own, and Happy Crocking!
What if I only want to make 2 salmon fillets? Is there any site I can go to for dividing up the amounts of all the ingredients?
Hi Diane, I went on line and found these measurements that would 1/3 a recipe, hope this helps! Happy Crocking!
To make 1/3 of a recipe!
1/4 cup = 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon
1/3 cup = 1 tablespoon + 2-1/3 teaspoons (or round to 1 tablespoon + 2-1/4 teaspoons)
1/2 cup = 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons
2/3 cup = 3 tablespoons + 1-1/2 teaspoons
3/4 cup = 1/4 cup
1 cup = 1/3 cup
How should I adjust the time/temp/etc. when making this recipe in a 6qt crockpot? I am new to using a crockpot and have only recently learned to ask this question (after I burnt Pumpkin Soup last week).
Hello Jennifer, The best way is to test your salmon in 30 minutes with a meat thermometer being sure not to rest on the bottom of the slow cooker. It may take longer than 30 minutes, but just to make sure I would test it early. Happy Crocking!

How big should the salmon fillets be? (i.e.: 4 oz or 6 oz each)
Many thanks!
Can I get an answer, please? I’m having guests tomorrow evening for dinner and I really need to know if the salmon fillets are 4 oz or 6 oz each! Thanks.
Can I omit ginger from the recipe ? Will it affect the taste significantly if I do so ? Thanks

I’m excited to try this! Recipe says 6 fillets – how many ounces per piece? (Or how many pounds total?) Any thoughts on cook time if the fillet were whole instead of individual serving size? Thank you!
