My family goes crazy for pork in the slow cooker. Not only does it cook up so perfectly, it absorbs flavors so well and we love to play with different seasonings. A favorite dish of ours is Slow Cooker Pork Chili Verde. It’s delicious and so easy!
- Grease a 3 quart slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
- Combine all ingredients and place in the slow cooker.
- Cover and Cook on Low for 6-8 hours.
Happy Crocking!
XOXO,
Jenn
In this picture of Chili Verde is that cilantro? Looks like maybe celery or something in there too that’s not listed in recipe!?
Meg sometimes I add things to my recipes like all of you that our family likes, but if you don’t want to add like the picture you are welcome to follow the recipe. Happy Crocking!
Do you put the meat in raw or pre-cooked?
Yes Heather just mix it all together, and it will cook in all the juices. So So Good! Happy Crocking!
just a quick question about the nutritional info? What is the serving size? THe carb, fiber and proteins seem like a lot in a single serving. thanks
Chris I checked the nutrition facts and they were not correct! I have modified the recipe, and so appreciate you letting me know. Happy Crocking!
I added a can of yellow hominy to mine instead of one of the cans of beans. It tastes great and gives it a very mild corn flavor which goes great with salsa verde.
Jenn, I have purchased all the ingredients and can’t wait to try this recipe! So there’s no addition of water or broth? It looks so juicy 🙂
Patti the only liquid would be the sauce… Happy Crocking!
I made this tonight. I added cilantro and cumin. It was a big hit! Definitely a do-over!
Great Carla! Love it when our crocking friends make a recipe their own. Thanks for the tips on the recipe! Happy Crocking!
Going to make this tonight with a few tweeks so I will let you guys know how awesome it turns out!
Just made this today! Delicious! I used a tomatillo verde salsa and left out the green chilies. I also added a mix of red, green, yellow, orange bell peppers and red onions. Having a chili competition at work to raise money for breast cancer and I think I’m going to make this one to take. Thanks again!
Susan thank you so much for posting, love it when I hear someone makes a recipe there own! Is does sound delicious. Love all the peppers, as they are not only good they are so colorful. Thanks again for sharing! 😉
I think I did something wrong…. My chili came out all gloppy and gluey. 🙁
Cindy I am so sorry, I’m not sure what happened. You might want to add some vegetable broth to see if you can thin it down. Hope this helps! Happy Crocking!

Is there a print option for this recipe??
There is Becky! On my website under Share and Enjoy, the first icon is a print button! Thank you for the question!
Is there only 1 lb of meat? I’m used to pork shoulder coming in much bigger sizes. Can’t wait to make it!
Hi Jacki, it is calling for a pound of pork stew meat from the pork shoulder. If you use more that will be fine, especially if your family enjoys pork. Happy Crocking!
So the pork shoulder is already cut up before you put it in the crock, correct?
Yes Heather that is correct! Enjoy!
Can i use boneless porkshops instead
Can this be made with chicken? I don’t eat pork. Otherwise this recipe sounds yummy
Yes, please make this recipe your own! We all have ingredients that we can not eat, so always make a recipe your own! Happy Crocking!
