Delicious and so easy! Slow Cooker Lasagna has all the flavor of a recipe that you slave over all day with the convenience of a slow cooker! You will enjoy!
- Cook beef, onion and garlic together in saucepan until browned. Drain.
- Stir in tomato sauce, water, butter, sugar, tomato paste, salt, and oregano. Mix well.
- Spread 1/4 of meat sauce (about 1.5 cups) in un-greased slow cooker. Arrange one-third of noodles over sauce.
- Combine the cheeses. Spoon one-third of mixture over noodles. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining sauce.
- Cover. Cook on Low 4-5 hours.
Variation: For a fuller flavor, use 24 oz. can tomato sauce instead of 6 oz. can tomato paste and water. Add 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. dried basil, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. For a spicy flavor, add 1/2 lb. ground or sliced Italian Sausage and brown with the hamburger.
Happy Crocking!
This was really good. I didn’t add the cheese on top until the last 2 hours of cooking so it wouldn’t brown too much. Thanks for the recipe
how long dose it cook for in the crock pot
Hello Karen, per the recipe it takes 4-5 hours on Low! Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
Do you boil and cook the noodles first or put them in the crockpot uncooked?
Hello Brittany, the noodles go in uncooked! So EASY and so SIMPLE! Happy Crocking!
How many servings does this make?
Hello Erin, you will find the number of servings on the upper right hand corner, but it does make 6-8 servings! Happy Crocking!
I didn’t see it. Thank you!
Instead of tomato sauce do you think a jar of pasta sauce would work?
Hello Erika! I believe this would work, although I have never attempted to make it this way! Let us know how it turned out and Happy Crocking!
Could I do this without any meat? Like, just an all cheese lasagna?
I love the idea of making Lasagna in a crock pot! I use my crock pot a lot and love to find new recipes to try out! Thanks for sharing!!
when making this ,do you layer the meat and noodles like you do in a baking dish
Hi Vickie, Step #3 and #4 tell you to layer in 1/3 increments! You are correct, you make it just like if you were making it for the oven. Enjoy!
What size crock pot would you use for this one? And if I was double it what size crock pot would I use?
Hello Vanessa, I would use a 4 – 4 1/2 quart slow cooker for a single, and a 6 – 6 1/2 quart to double. Thanks for the question, and Happy Crocking!
A vegetable version would be delicious too!
Hi Jennifer, happy to share! Enjoy! http://www.getcrocked.com/2011/09/26/crock-pot-veggie-lasagna/
Just ran across this recipe — sounds delicious. I have a question, though. In the variant, you replace the 6 oz can of tomato paste with 24 oz of tomato sauce and the various herbs. If I go that route, do I keep the 29 oz can of tomato sauce, too? That seems like a lot!
The way I read it, the 24oz can + herbs replaces the 29 oz can + paste + water. Correct?
I like my Lasagna wet, therefore I add the extra sauce, and as well as the 29 oz. can. But please make this recipe your own, if you like your Lasagna drier, then you should do as you suggested. Happy Crocking!

Do you need to grease your crock pot first?
Hi Kim, the crock should be un-greased! Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
thanks
Do you use regular uncooked lasagna noodles or uncooked oven-ready … or does it matter?
Hi Lisa, I use the regular uncooked noodles for this recipe! 🙂
Can you assemble this in the crockpot and refrigerate the night before?
Absolutely Jackie, I do it often! Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
Can you add the crock size? I have sm. 3-4 qt and a large 7 qt. the thing that is always helpful is the crock size you use.
The key is to make sure your slow cooker is 1/2 to 2/3 full to crock properly. You should use your 3-4 quart slow cooker for this recipe. Hope this helps! Happy Crocking!
Can I use this recipe if I don’t read it first?
Seriously, folks – it’s all right there.
If I want to make this in a 7qt crock pot, how much of each ingredients do I need??
If I double the recipe and place in a 61/2 quart crock pot do I have to extend cooking time?
No Becky it should crock in the same amount of time as long as your slow cooker is only 1/2 to 2/3 full! 🙂
Can I make this using ground turkey?
Can I make the meat sauce the night before and put it in the fridge until I need it?
Never mind. I see you already answered my question. Looking forward to trying this
