Slow Cooker Apple Crisp is a favorite of the kiddos, family and friends! YUMMY!
-
- Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl.
- Combine butter with the flour mixture using fingers or a fork until coarse crumbs form. Stir in walnuts and set aside.
- Whisk together 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Place the apples in a slow cooker, stir in the cornstarch mixture; toss with lemon juice. Sprinkle the walnut crumb topping on top.
- Cover. Cook on High for 2 hours or Low for 4 hours, until apples are tender. Partially uncover the slow cooker to allow the topping to harden, about 1 hour.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or as our family likes it drenched in cream or milk for breakfast.
Happy Crocking!

This looks delicious! Do you use cold butter or room temperature? Thanks!
Hi Lotte, I use room temperature! Thanks for the question and Happy Crocking…. you will enjoy!
Can you tell me what size crock pot you use?
Drew… I use my 4 quart crock pot for the Crock Pot Apple Crisp! Happy Crocking!
When you partially uncover and let top harden, is the crock still on or off?
Still on Brett! Thanks for the question… Happy Crocking!
OMG! Want it!…. but read the fat, carbs, calories, sugar… yikes! Gotta think about it… Only one here with a sweet tooth and not really good at resisting.
Nana… I’m like you, but you could substitute with Stevia or Aguava… I’ve not made it that way, but I am sure it would still be delicious! Happy Crocking!
This looks delicious! In the picture I can spot some oats, but they’re not listed in the recipe, and I was wondering why that was. Thanks, can’t wait to try it!
No oats Samantha, it may just be the picture. Happy Crocking!
I hope somebody answers this fast. Lol. Do you cook it for 2 hours then 1 hour with the lid partially opened or for the last of the two hours? I have this in the crockpot now.
Sorry Brittany I was out, but it was 2 hours then lid partially opened the last 1 hour.
What kind of apples do you use?
I used Honey Crisp this time! But I have used Gala also! Happy Crocking!
Can u use oatmeal instead of flour
Pat I have not made it that way before, but the fun of cooking or crocking is changing things up to your liking! Happy Crocking!
Made this last night and it was delicious! Followed the recipe exactly, and it didn’t need any adjustments. VERY good! Thanks!
I made this yesterday and although it was very sweet, it was delicious. I will cut all the sugar in half the next time (there will be a next time) and it all went in one sitting. Glad to read the question about the crock pot being on or off during the hour to harden the top – next time I will leave it on. Love reading all these recipes. Thanks.
