What if I want to use a pre-made BBQ sauce? Would I simply put the BBQ Sauce and the chicken in?
Sheral the fun of cooking is making things the way you like them, use the pre-made BBQ sauce. Have fun and Happy Crocking!
sorry for this silly ? but I am new to cooking how do you shred the cooked chicken? thanks!
Hi Mary, Thank you for the question. Once the chicken is done, you shred it with two forks. You just place the forks in the chicken, and pull the forks in opposite directions, and begin to shred. 🙂
What a great website! Thinking about serving this on the 4th of July. I love BBQ! Is this about 6 servings or maybe 8?
Hey Tina, sorry for the late reply, we had a wedding out of state, and were consumed with all the wedding activities! But truly the serving size is between 6-8 depending on the size of the serving! Hope you made this one, so good!
Is the nutritional info accurate? I always thought pulled chicken recipes were pretty healthy, but 647 calories and 43.6 grams of sugar in a serving? Really?
Sarah, There was an error in the calculation of the nutritional facts for this recipe. The ingredients that spike the Nutrition facts would be the Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and maple syrup. If you add alternatives for these items, you could reduce the nutritional facts! Thanks for bringing this error to my attention. Happy Crocking!
I got lazy and just had my daughter dump in a bottle of barbecue sauce but thanks for the inspo. =P
I have found the easiest way to shred the chicken is with your hand mixer…even right in the crockpot…works magically
