I had bariatric surgery and cannot tolerate alcohol. Do you think I could just add like maybe milk or extra water and rum extract. Would it come out the same?

If you can not have alcohol, then look at the ingredients list of extracts…
They are mostly alcohol with some sugar. In other words, you’d substitute rum with something that is about the same proof.
If you really want the rum flavor, try adding it in the beginning when the recipe says not to so the stuff you can’t have will evaporate.
-Just to make sure someone doesn’t hurt themselves.

Question: I saw 2 qts. water in recipe. Said to add all but rum cream and extra nutmeg. THEN said add 2 qts HOT water. So 4 qts in all? Or two!? I can be oblivious to the obvious so excuse me if I missed a crucial point,I just got confused.

Is it 4 cups of water total, or is the original 2 qts what you’re talking about in Step 2?

How long would you cook it on the stove top? I ran out of time to make it this way 🙁 I’m cooking it at medium I figured for 2 hours and them adding the other ingredients?

Hi:) This is going to be perfect for my Turkey Day get together. I just wanted to clarify… if I follow this exactly about how many servings will I have for my guest. I am having 20 people so just wanted to make sure I would have enough for everyone. I am using small mugs but wanted to double check!

Thanks so much!
