Ingredients
1 1/2 c. sugar1 1/4 c. cocoa powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. hot water
1 gallon milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
I have made Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa for several years. Love it around Halloween when all my friends come over for “Trick or Treat”!
- In large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and salt.
- Add hot water slowly, mixing well.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
- Boil and stir 2 minutes.
- Add milk; heat to serving temperature, stirring occasionally. DO NOT BOIL.
- Remove from heat; add vanilla, cinnamon, and whip with a whisk.
Serve hot, with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
NOTE: This recipe can be doubled and kept in slow cooker for easier serving to large groups.
Happy Crocking!
Just wondering how many people this will serve??
Or how many cups it will yield?
Hi Kay, the serving size is in the upper right hand corner of the page, but I am happy to share with you that it makes 20 cups! Happy Crocking!
Hi 🙂 Can it all be made directly in the crockpot? Just to save the hassle of making it all on the stovetop and transferring it to a crockpot? (I’m the world’s biggest clutz and know for a fact that I will find a way to trip over invisible objects during the process hahaha).
Thank in advance 🙂 It sounds delicious!
I’ve not made it that way, but definitely worth trying Jonelle! Please post back and let us know how it worked. Maybe crock for about 2-3 hours on high, but be sure to check on it often. Happy Crocking!
