Slow Cooker Stuffing is yet another tasty holiday dish that you can make in a slow cooker! You know I love slow cookers all year around and during the holidays they are lifesavers to keep food warm as well as a way to save that precious oven space! I’ll be Crocking AND serving my holiday dishes buffet style using Crock-Pot brand’s new Hook-Ups – including this yummy stuffing.
- Grease a slow cooker with butter.
- Combine ingredients in slow cooker.
- Cover. Cook on High for one hour, stir well; continue to cook on Low for 3 hours.
Happy Crocking!
Do you have a recipe on how to cook a turkey breast and stuffing in slowcooker/crockpot ?
Bonnie we have one for the turkey breast and this recipe for the stuffing! But not for both as it would be hard to fit it all in the slow cooker. Check out my website, and do a search for turkey breast and several recipes will one up. Hope this helps! Happy Crocking!
Hi, there. May I ask how many people this would serve? Thank you!
Lis, all of the serving sizes are in the upper right hand corner of each page, but happy to share this recipe serves 8-10.. 🙂
*bonks head* Sorry and thanks for the info!
Hi,
I’m in the UK and fairly new to recipes from the USA, in the recipe you ask for 1T of margarine or butter could you tell me how much that is by weight please.
Many thanks,
Hi Melanie! A Tablespoon is about 1 oz. Sometimes I just use a large serving spoon and eyeball it. Happy Crocking!
instead of using stale bread crumbs could i use the bag stuffing?
Hi Fran, please make this recipe your own, I am sure the bag stuffing will work for you too! 🙂
Do I need to peel the apples for the dressing, also any type of apples?
Thanks
Hi Rae, this is a personal preference, some like the peel, some do not, make it your way… 🙂 You can use any good cooking apple, I like the gala, but you can choose any apple of your choice. Happy Crocking!
StoveTop Dressing has a recipe for chicken and dressing that is really good. AND, easy! I’m sure it would work for turkey.
If I choose to leave out the apple do I need to compensate with something else that provides moisture? Thank you!
No Steff… this change should not alter the consistence of the recipe.. Thank you for the question!
I love sausage in my stuffing. I suppose I could cook that ahead of time and add it to the crock. Thoughts?
Michelle… absolutely! A delicious addition to the stuffing!
Can cornbread be used instead of bread?
Alma make this recipe your own. I have not used cornbread, but I am sure if this is the way you like your stuffing, you will love it!
What size crock? Trying to figure out if I can double this recipe. Thanks!
Grace to double this recipe you would want to use a 6 – 7 Quart slow cooker. But for Turkey Day, if you are like us we love our stuffing!
I wonder if chestnuts would disintegrate in here? Have you tried?
I have not attempted chestnuts, but it sure does sound delicious… Post back with your successful results! 🙂
What size crockpot are you using for this recipe?
Kim a 5 1/2 – 6 quart slow cooker.. Happy Crocking!
I did it exactly like this but that doesn’t seem to be enough broth. Help!!
