Hi,
I have a question about “High” vs. “Low” setting on the crockpots. My crockpot has 5 notches on the dial. At what number does the setting go from low to high, 5 is “High”. Is “3′ low?
Hi Connie, I would check with the manufacturer, but I would think the 1 would be warm, but check with the manufacturer to be sure. Sounds like a great Crock Pot….. Happy Crocking!
Are the nutrition facts for just one serving or for the whole dish? The lasagna sounds (and looks) delicious, but I need to watch the sodium intake.
Kelly it is per serving…. if you made your own sauce it would reduce the sodium… and… it was delicious! Hubby loved it! Happy Crocking!
Hello!! Can you use ricotta cheese vs cottage? I love ricotta and I very much dislike cottage. Thanks!!
Hello Michelle! You certainly can, and this is a favorite at our house! Happy Crocking!
I’m preparing this tomorrow. According to other similar crock pot lasagna recipes, many reviewers suggested adding 1 to 1 1/2 cups of water around the dish, otherwise it ends up dry and/or burned. Any advice?
Christina you can certainly do that if you have a dish that will fit in your slow cooker. But I have not found the need to do that with this recipe. Please post back if you made it that way. Thank you for your question. 🙂
Can you use no bake noodles or does it need to be the uncooked noodles? Also instead of tomato sauce and paste can I use spaghetti sauce?
Hi Shari, I have not made it this way, but please make all these recipes your own, but would appreciate your sharing how it worked for you, as others may have the same question. Happy Crocking!
Lots of your recipes say low for 4-5 hours. What adjustments can I make to have it go 9 hours so I can plug it in before I leave for work in the morning?
Aimee, there are really not any adjustments to have something crock for 9 hours when it says 4-5 hours on Low. Your meal would be dried out, and could possibly burn. Several of my followers crock things in the evening, and heat them up the next evening for the meal. I also have several recipes that crock for 9 hours, so you may want to check them out on my website at GetCrocked.com. Hope this helps! Happy Crocking!
Does it taste “really” different if you drop the cottage cheese? Is there a reason you chose to use cottage cheese?
Hi Jacee, I like the cottage cheese, but you are welcome to use what you like! Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
Jenn, what is the estimated number of serving of this recipe?
Hi Trish! You’ll find all the serving sizes on the upper right hand side of each page, but I am happy to share that this recipe serves 8-10. Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
What would happen if I put noodles as the first layer instead of the meat sauce ? I’m concerned about the meat sauce not being able to hold the rest of the lasagna up. The last thing I want is a dish that falls apart upon slicing.
Yvette I’ve made this several times, and I prefer the meat sauce on the bottom, but please make this recipe your own, and make it the way you would like it. I will tell you it isn’t a recipe you slice, you will scoop it out of the slow cooker. But it is so so good! Happy Crocking!
Drain the meat before adding tomato sauce?
Recently divorced I am glad I decided to eat something other than beans, sandwich’s for dinner. So found this web site found out I can eat good again! The meat loaf was awesome so decided to make the lasagna today. I will let ya know tomorrow how it turned out.
Tkx
I loved it! So did my neighbors. Next time I make it I will use 2 lb of meat
Hi, Jenn . . .
Do you think I could use uncooked mafalda pasta (mini lasagna noodles) in this recipe? I have a box on hand and would love to make this recipe soon.
Thanks!
