Slow Cooker Beef and Noodles

  • Cooking Time:

    4 hours on High or 8 hours on Low
  • Servings:

Ingredients

2 lbs. stew meat (cubed)
29 oz. beef broth, canned
2 c. water
1 T. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
16 oz. noodles, egg noodles

Slow Cooker Beef and Noodles was one of my favorite dinners growing up.  I would literally beg my mom to make it every week!  The flavor in this recipe is wonderful and the combination of beef and noodles pleases both meat and pasta lovers.  I typically serve this over top of Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes and a side salad.  (Just like Mom used to make!)

  1. Place stew meat in slow cooker and pour beef broth and water over the meat.
  2. Add in garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover. Crock on High for 4 hours or on Low for 8 hours.
  4. Add in egg noodles during the last 30 minutes of crocking.

Personally I would prefer substituting a green veg. instead of the 2ed starch (mashed potatoes) just me.

Looks exactly what my mom used to make! Just wondering, what kind of egg noodles are those in the picture? They look like Reames egg noodles.

I am making this right now except stove top in my dutch oven; I heart Reame’s noodles!!!! I usually make chicken and noodles with them but really wanted to try a beef dish so this was perfect. It already smells amazing.

Could the difference be a vented lid vs. a non-vented…i have one of each and my unvented lid always seems to cause my meal to be more watery…just a thought 🙂

I am planning on making this dish. I was wondering if I cut the recipe in half if the cooking time would be the same or I was wondering if any one knew if leftovers froze well for for this dish? I am the only one that would eat this. Thanks

I made this but cut down on the liquid: 16 oz of beef broth and no water. Came out just as pictured above.

I love Beef and Noodles!! But I was just thinking that you could very simply turn this into Chicken & Noodles by switching the meat and broth. Any other suggestions on that idea?

Just like my mom makes…except she adds a few whole cloves while cooking the meat, then removes them before adding the egg noodles. I am making some right now. Yum!

Omg I also loved my mothers beef and noodles!
She also made the most tender and flavorful braised short ribs and fluffy Bisquick dumplings. But… she never used a crockpot. I am searching for a similar crockpot recipe for braised beef short ribs w/o wine..

Hi ladies…I often make my beef stew or beef stroganoff in my crock pot and to get the juice to thicken nicely and evenly, I shake the beef tips in a ziplock bag with some flour. Shake off the excess and then place in the liquid in the crock pot. Also, Progresso French Onion Soup is a great alternative to the basic beef broth.

How about if I take out the garlic and onion powder because my daughter is 7 yrs old and she doesn’t like a lot of stuff like that especially spices. What do you recommend or suggest?. I still want taste. I still plan to use salt and pepper.
