Slow Cooker Red Velvet Cake originated as best known from the Waldorf-Astoria Cake! But one thing we do know is that it is delicious!
- Combine cake mix with eggs, oil, and water. Pour into slow cooker.
- Make Jell-O Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix using cold milk…and pour over cake mix in slow cooker. Do Not Stir
- Evenly sprinkle white chocolate chips over the top of the pudding mix.
- Cover. Cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours on High.
- Cake will be moist but should not jiggle, and chocolate will be softly shooting up from the top of the cake.
OPTIONAL: Cut in a heart shape, and you can even sprinkle with powdered sugar!
Great SERVED with whipped topping or ice cream, if you desire!

you don’t say what size pudding–the small one or the large?
Sorry Kristen, I have correct the recipe, just do a refresh, but it is the 3.4 oz. size. Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention… I work really hard to not make mistakes, but every once in a while, I do! You are the greatest for letting me know! Happy Crocking, and also Happy Valentines Day!
Hello,
Do you serve this warm, or room temperature?
thanks!
Gini, I would serve it the way you like it! Enjoy!
When you say make the jello pudding mix, do you mean make the pudding and pour the pudding on top? I don’t want to sound stupid but want to clarify. I thought the “do not stir” meant not to stir it in with the cake mix.
KBQ… Since the pudding mix is instant, mix with the cold milk, then pour over the cake in the bottom of the crock. You are correct “Do Not Stir” means not to stir in with the cake mix. Happy Crocking!
One more question about the pudding. When I mixed it, it is very thin. When I pour it is slowly, it goes to the bottom of the crock. However, the recipe says to put the White Chocolate Chips over the top of the pudding. Am I missing something??
Sounds like you are making it correctly Stimis! Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
