Love this Slow Cooker Beer Chicken – I add potatoes but you can add any root vegetable to this delicious recipe!
- Place all ingredients in a 5-Quart slow cooker.
- Cover. Cook on Low for 6-8 hour or High for 4-5 hours.
NOTE: Change out the spices and herbs with spices of your choice.
Optional: Can shred and add your favorite BBQ Sauce to make sandwiches too (Drain off liquid when adding BBQ Sauce)!
Happy Crocking!
Can the chicken be frozen when putting it in?
Yes Kimberly, when I make it, my chicken was thawed, but you may need to add a hour or two to the recipe if frozen. Thanks for the question, and Happy Crocking!
This looks like it would serve quite a few, it is just my husband and I so any suggestions on either cutting this recipe in half or more?
Sabrina it serves 8, so you could cut it in half and make in a 3 1/2 to 4 quart crock pot, and even freeze half if you didn’t want left overs right away. This is very good! Happy Crocking!
What do you typically serve with this?
Natalie, you can serve it with the vegetable of your choice, as well as potatoes. Happy Crocking!
Does it matter if the beer is light beer or regular?
Lindey, I would use what you have on hand… Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
can you use a cider ale for this recipe?
Shawn, I encourage my followers to make each recipe their own, therefore I would use the cider ale if this is what you would like to use. I am sure it would be delicious! Happy Crocking!
