Where in the world would one find Coconut palm sugar. Alternative?
I am not sure where you are from, but the health food stores, such as Sprouts (located near me) would be where you can find it, or even some grocery stores may carry it. 😉
Not sure of your area but Kroger carries coconut palm sugar, in the baking aisle with the other sugar and sweeteners!
I ordered my Palm Coconut Sugar from Amazon.
Can you use regular oatmeal? Any change to the quantity or the recipe if you do? What else can you use besides coconut palm sugar? This recipe sounds so great, i can’t wait to make it for my family!
Hi George! You are welcome to use regular oats, however, Steel-Cut oats are the only certified Gluten-Free. If that is not necessary for you, you can use the same amount of any oats that are called for in the recipe! Thanks for your question, and Happy Crocking!
This was excellent! Very easy to do the night before for a warm and satisfying breakfast. My kiddos loved it. I used raw sugar and coconut oil to line the crockpot. Topped with strawberries, mini chocolate chips and slivered almonds. I may take some to work with me for later…… Thank you!
Can this be made with regular oatmeal and sugar? I haven’t cooked “gluten free” so I don’t know if adjustments have to be made for cooking times, amount of fluid etc? Thanks!
You can Chris, it would just not make it gluten free, but still yummy!
Is the coconut milk from the can or from the dairy section similar to almond milk?
Hi Danielle – it refers to the canned coconut milk. Thanks for your question!
I made this for the kids for this morning. I thought it was really bland until I added choc chips and pecans. Does t stand for tablespoon or teaspoon?
