Slow Cooker Red Velvet Cake

  • Cooking Time:

    2 1/2 to 3 hours on High
  • Servings:

    8

Ingredients

1 cake mix, red velvet
3 eggs
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1 2/3 c. water
3.4 oz. package Jell-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding Mix
2 c. milk, cold
12 oz. chocolate chips, white

Slow Cooker Red Velvet Cake originated as best known from the Waldorf-Astoria Cake! But one thing we do know is that it is delicious!

  1. Combine cake mix with eggs, oil, and water. Pour into slow cooker.
  2. Make Jell-O Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix using cold milk…and pour over cake mix in slow cooker. Do Not Stir
  3. Evenly sprinkle white chocolate chips over the top of the pudding mix.
  4. Cover. Cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours on High.
  5. Cake will be moist but should not jiggle, and chocolate will be softly shooting up from the top of the cake.

OPTIONAL: Cut in a heart shape, and you can even sprinkle with powdered sugar!

Great SERVED with whipped topping or ice cream, if you desire!

Happy Crocking!

Hello,

Do you serve this warm, or room temperature?
thanks!

When you say make the jello pudding mix, do you mean make the pudding and pour the pudding on top? I don’t want to sound stupid but want to clarify. I thought the “do not stir” meant not to stir it in with the cake mix.

One more question about the pudding. When I mixed it, it is very thin. When I pour it is slowly, it goes to the bottom of the crock. However, the recipe says to put the White Chocolate Chips over the top of the pudding. Am I missing something??
