4-5
Ingredients
2 - 3 lb. ribs, rack (pork loin ribs are the best)3 1/2 c. pineapple juice (reserve 1/4 c. for basting before they are grilled)
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
16 oz. BBQ sauce, bottle (favorites, Famous Dave’s, Sweet Baby Rays)
The title says it all Slow Cooker BEST EVER BBQ Ribs! Love this recipe as I can put it on early in the morning, and know my meal can be ready in just 15 or 20 minutes when I get home in the evening!
- Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner!
- Cut defrosted rib slabs into individual slabs (about 2-3 ribs each). Placing the ribs into the slow cooker.
- Mix the pineapple juice and brown sugar together and pour over the ribs.
- Cover. Cook on High for 6-7 hours or Low for 8-10 hours.
- When the ribs are done in the slow cooker, use tongs to gently pull them out (they will fall apart when you touch them).
- Start the grill on medium heat.
- While the grill is heating up, mix together the bottle of BBQ sauce and the 1/4 cup of pineapple juice you reserved.
- Gently place the ribs on the grill and and brush with BBQ/Pineapple sauce. Turning the ribs twice, slathering with more sauce each time (you can’t have enough sauce!)
- The ribs will take about 10-15 minutes to glaze over (as soon as that sauce starts to turn sticky, you know they are done!).
NOTE: I think the grilling steps really add to the recipe but you can certainly skip the grill if you don’t have one or don’t have time for it.
Happy Crocking!
XOXO,
Jenn
I absolutely cannot wait to try this!!! I don’t have a grill. Could I do the last part under the broiler??? Thanks!
Absolutely Judy! I’ve done that very thing, especially when the weather was not very nice outside! Happy Crocking!
Will baby back ribs workmwith this recipe?
It should Renee! Happy Crocking!
I’m making about 6 pounds of ribs tonight for dinner for a group of friends (half of the ribs are pork loin, half baby back)… followed your recipe but added a little extra pineapple juice and brown sugar to cover all the ribs in my pot, though I didn’t have enough to completely cover every last inch of ribs, some bits are poking out! Hopefully that’s not a big deal… that mixture smells divine. Hoping they turn out great! Thanks for the recipe!!!
Thank you Judy for your question and Crock-Pot Girl for your answer, I was hoping I could make these this weekend, but the weather is already to cold for the BBQ grill in WI.
So I will try the broiler method.
So I don’t have a broiler or a grill. Any ideas of what do for the last part?
Megan they will still be good, you can skip this part, since you don’t have those means available to you… Happy Crocking!
I’ve always used my moms BBQ sauce and have recieved nothing but compliments. It’s chili sauce and grape jelly. I usually use a full bottle of chili sauce and about half a large jar of jelly. I bet this would be super delicious with the pineapple juice and brown sugar mixed. Will have to try, thanks.
My husband picked up Pork Country Style ribs. Do you think they will work and taste good with this recipe? Thanks
Hi Kimberly – the country ribs should be fine with this recipe. Since they are meatier, you may need to crock them longer to make sure they get done. I would recommend checking the meat temperature when this recipe should be done and then determining how much longer to cook them. Per FDA safe food guidelines, they should reach 145 degrees (and then let them “rest” for at least 3 minutes) before eating. I hope this helps. Please let us know how they turn out. Happy Crocking!
I have short ribs will those work with this recipe?
Hi Ashley – They should work okay. Since they are meatier, you may need to crock them longer to make sure they get done. I would recommend checking the meat temperature when this recipe should be done and then determining how much longer to cook them. Happy Crocking!
Wow, must try these, yum, yum, drooling already! lol! thx.

Question~if they fall apart in the crockpot how does grilling them work???
You can put them under the broiler to set the sauce if you can’t grill them
These ribs were so awesome!! I have tried sooo many times to make fall apart, tender, tasty, ribs and the recipes have all failed finally found these and my husband loved them! Thank you!
Thanks Connie Sweeney… your testimony will helps others in making this delicious “Best Ever BBQ Ribs” !! 🙂
What size crock pot do you recommend using for the recipe above?
I cut my baby backs into 4 sections & stand them on end in my 6 qt cooker so fat drips off. Also, for those who haven’t tried the sauce….my new fave is Sticky Fingers….I’m a BBQ ribs snob so this is quite the recommendation 🙂
great ribs, nearly fool proof. loved by all that have them.
just watch the ribs that they don’t overcook in the crock pot.
highly recommended.
Do you remove the silver skin, or just leave it on? Thanks.
I made these tonight. I finished up on my Foreman grill. They were delicious! Two-thumbs up from my boys!
