Slow Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls were shared by our Facebook Friend Amy B.F.S.. With so many request for her recipe I wanted to put it on my page for all of you to have.
- Mix meat, minced onion, egg, rice, salt and pepper together.
- Put meat mixture in the leaves of the cabbage, and roll up.
- Place carefully in the crock on top of each other. Fold to the bottom.
- Pour 1 1/2 cans of cream of mushroom soup over the cabbage leaves.
- Cover. Cook on Low for 4-5 hours.
NOTE: If prepping this the night before, pour the mushroom soup over the cabbage just before you start your crock.
Happy Crocking!

Do you brown the meat prior to using it in this recipe or does it cook in the crock pot?
Amber, it didn’t sound like she pre-cooked it, and I have reached out to her to make sure the recipe is correct, but have not heard back from her. I will update if it is different? I believe it will just good in the mixture, as she also added egg. But GREAT question? Happy Crocking!
Our family does this with tomato soup. Lots of butter. Soften the leaves of cabbage in some booking water they are easier to wrap. My dad’s favorite. Called pigs in the blanket.
We have been eating this for years, but we blanch the cabbage leaves for ease of wrapping and, like Dina, we use tomato soup. We also sneak in grated carrot and zucchini. The kids love it
What about the rice? Do you add it to the meat mixture or lay the cabbage rolls on top of rice?
Molly, You just add the cooked rice to the meat mixture… Happy Crocking!
Another question…did she cook the cabbage leaves at all?
Liz, since this is a Facebook Friends recipe, I do not think that she did, but I am sure she washed them good before she wrapped her meat mixture, and allowed them to cook all together for the time stated on the recipe. Happy Crocking!
What does one typically serve with cabbage rolls? I’m intrigued by the recipe, but have never had a cabbage roll before…
Tonya you can throw in some potatoes and carrotts too.. or even with any potatoes, salad, and some delicious crusty Italian bread. YUM!
What do you do with the rice???
Sonny I really work hard not to make mistakes, but you caught me! Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention, I have corrected the recipe. Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
The cabbage isn’t listed in the ingredient list…kind of obvious but I actually forgot to add it to my grocery list since I just went through the stuff listed.
Jess thank you for posting, I am sorry your were inconvenienced, I have added it to the list. 🙂
It’s and old polish recipie. And its cold pigeons. Cabbage leaves are boild for few mins to seften them up. Makes it easier to roll them up. Meat is raw and cooked rice is added to meat mixture. Hope it helps ye girls 🙂
So has anyone actually made this yet? I’m curious seems like a good twist on cabbage rolls
Let me just say this. I just tasted cabbage rolls for the first time last year and fell in love. I make them on a regular basis now and I am making them today, as a matter of fact. I came here to see how long I should cook them in the crock pot. I have seen them many times and heard people talk about them. You always always par-boil your cabbage head and peel the leaves off in the pot one by one. You cannot roll them up if they are not boiled a bit. Now this doesn’t mean… Read more »
