- Arrange onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Combine salt, pepper, mustard and smoked paprika in a small bowl.
- Rub both sides of the meat with the seasonings and place in a 6-Quart slow cooker.
- Pour the chili sauce over top of the meat.
- Cover. Crock on LOW for 10-12 hours.
Note: You can also substitute pork for the beef in this recipe!
Happy Crocking!
Will the chili sauce make it hot? I grew up in Texas and I’m looking for that Great Texas Brisket taste.. 😉 But I’m a lightweight on hot spicy stuff..lol
Claudia it will give it a kick, but not too hot, at least I don’t think so … Hope you will make it! Happy Crocking!
Cant find smoke flavored salt. Can I use liquid smoke?
Hello, I found mine with the sea salt, as it is smoke flavored sea salt. Hope this helps! 🙂
Went to three different stores and could not find it. So I think I might try the liquid smoke and see how that works. Wish me luck!
Could not find the smoke flavored salt. If you use the liquid smoke, how much should be used? Thank you
I wouldn’t use very much of it at first, and add when you are done if you feel you would like addition… Happy Holidays and Happy Crocking!
links to find smoked sea salt. I use 1/4 teaspoon of liquid smoke in my pea soup so I would not use much more than that in the Chili sauce to replace the smoked sea salt. Brown the meat on both sides with your favorite seasoning like season all or just salt and pepper prior to placing it in the crock pot. here is the link to ask.com search that has some places that sell it.. http://search.tb.ask.com/search/GGmain.jhtml?searchfor=smoked%2520sea%2520salt&st=tab&ptb=4014CD13-7EE1-47F4-AEF9-FB675FA11848&n=780b8398&ind=2014020504&ct=SS&pg=GGmain&tpr=tabsbsug&p2=^UX^xdm297^YYA^us&si=49588
Is “T” for tablespoon? I’ve never just seen a T! 🙂 thanks! Can’t wait to try this. You’re awesome!!!
Hi Kelly, yes the T. is for Tablespoon, and tsp. is for teaspoon.. Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
McCormicks makes a Texas Slow BBQ rub. It comes in a packet. I also don’t like hot food. Just got back from Texas and fell in love with their BBQ!! The McCormick rub comes real close to that Texas flavor without the heat. Just the right kick!! I would try that rather than the chili sauce…..
How can I print the recipe and the photo together on one sheet of paper?
It is the program, therefore, it is a print friendly program, therefore it only prints the recipe. 🙂
What kind / brand bottle of chile sauce? Is it Frank’s Red Hot Sauce? Thanks.
Dan it isn’t hot sauce it is chili sauce, and I know Heinz makes a chile sauce. You can also check with your local grocer, and I am sure they will be able to help you! Thank you for the question, and Happy Crocking! 🙂
