This dish is ideal if you need to make room in the oven or on the counter come Thanksgiving Day. This traditional Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Stuffing can be a great dish to put together the evening before the big day.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion, celery, mushroom, and parsley in butter, stirring frequently. Cook until onion is translucent.
- Spoon cooked vegetables over bread cubes in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle in poultry seasoning, sage, thyme, salt and pepper. Pour in enough broth to moisten, and mix in beaten egg. Transfer mixture to crock.
- Cover and crock on LOW 4 hours.
Happy Crocking!
XOXO,

Love all your recipes…
Do you need the egg? I have never made stuffing with egg.
Debbie please make his recipe your own, it may be a midwest thing, as my mother always use eggs, but it definitely is not a must. Enjoy, and be sure to post back, as I am sure there are others that don’t use eggs either. Thank you so much for your question. Happy Crocking!
Do you need to grease the crockpot with spray or butter ?
Donna I would spray or butter the slow cooker, or use a slow cooker liner. Your preference. Thank you and Happy Crocking!
What type of bread would you suggest using?
And when you we can put together the night before – Do you mean complete up to the step of mixing all together so that on ThanksGiving I just need to put in a slow cooker?
Thank You!
Looking forward to trying this 🙂

Hi Jennifer – I really believe you could use whatever type of bread is your favorite. I just use regular white bread from the grocery store. The night before I will lay out all the bread slices on cookie sheets to get it stale. Then in the morning I’ll break the bread into pieces for the recipe. Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Crocking!
how many servings?
Hello, all of the serving sizes are in the upper right hand corner of each page. Happy to share this recipes serves 8-10! Happy Thanksgiving!
Can u make this same in the oven please let me know or if you have a recipe too.. ran out of crock pots with all the wonder Thanksgiving recipes 🙂
Since I use slow cookers, I don’ have a recipe, but I am sure if you use the same recipe it will work in the oven.. Just don’t know how long you would bake, I would start checking it at about 45 minutes, I’d guess.. Hope this helps! Happy Thanksgiving!
If I double it will it take more time?
Patti you can certainly double this recipe, with the required rule of thumb when crocking. For a slow cooker to crock properly it needs to be 1/2 to 2/3 full. If your slow cooker is large enough to do this, it should take the same amount of time. Although each slow cooker cooks differently, so you must know your slow cooker too. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
What size crockpot do you use for this recipe?
Hello Sandi, I would use my 5-6 quart slow cooker for this one. It needs to be 1/2 to 2/3 full to crock properly. Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
Does it come out too moist ?? I don’t like really “wet” dressing ..
Deborah if it is too moist for you, you can raise the lid some for it to dry a little for you! Happy Crocking!
Excellent ingredients for a delicious stuffing/dressing!! Pinning it!!
