This looks really good. This is something I’ve never made and looks so yummy and easy to make. Will definitely give this a try.
Thanks!

Very, very tasty and unbelievably simple! It’s exactly the taste I’m looking for! Try it stovetop with cubed steaks as well.
can i use raw onion rather then the dry mix?
Hi Hailey, sure you can use your preference! You may like it better that way????!!!!! Happy Crocking!
Hi-
My husband loves Stroganoff, but I’m allergic to mushrooms…can I use cream of cereal eh soup instead?
Meghan absolutely, any creamed soup will be fine, and your choice of cream of celery soup sounds great! Happy Crocking!
Can fresh mushrooms be added?
Jennifer, that is exactly what I did, although the recipe does not call for it, we like mushrooms in our Stroganoff! Happy Crocking!
My son is not a fan of mushrooms, is there another condensed soup I can use?
Diane you can substitute for a different soup, such as cream of celery or chicken… I’ve not done this before, but if you do, please post back and let everyone know how it turned out. There may be others that don’t care for cream of muchroom soup. Thank you for the question, and Happy Crocking!
Can you just put it all in and let it cook on low all day?
Ann, I don’t think it would be as good to crock it all day, some recipes are set for a shorter length of time. But if you do put it on all day, please post back and let everyone know how it turned out. Happy Crocking!
Why don’t the ingredients match the picture? At the very least there are no sliced mushrooms, cilantro or onions listed but they are in the picture? It appears that is a professionally prepared dish and this is something different
Tom sometimes when making a recipe, as in all recipe, adding favorite ingredients for your family, can be done. Even though the recipe does not call the additions, I like to show you can add favorite spices, ingredients of your choice. Happy Crocking!
I am a “set it and forget it” kind ofcook. I start it in the morning and come home to a cooked meal. Can you leave the meat on low for 6 hours? And then add the cream cheese later?
I’m Gonna Throw InSome Fresh Mushrooms As well
Hi. Can I use the ready to eat cream of mushroom asa pose to condensed. Will it be same taste I’m hoping 🙂
Andrea I have not used it, but the fun of crocking is doing things the way you like them, so if you use the ready to eat, please post back and let us know how it turned out. Happy Crocking!
Just made this for dinner and it doesn’t get any easier than that! Very tasty but we all agreed it was a bit salty, what could we use other than the dry onion soup mix and not lose any of the ease and tastiness? I was thinking dried onions? I wish they made a low salt version of the dry onion soup mix!
Beth did you use the low sodium soup? I’m thinking this may be what made it too salty for you.. Love the feedback! Happy Crocking!
I don’t like the dry onion soup mix for the same reason, way too salty. In another recipe that called for it I used dried onions and it was great! And no added salt either. Way better with the dried onions. I did a test batch of what I was cooking and used only 1/2 the amount required of the dry soup mix and found it too salty, that’s what steered me towards using a few tablespoons of the dried onions. Do it, it will come out great.
I made this recipe for the first time tonight. It was super easy and super yummy! I cut at least 30 minutes off the cooking time by cutting the meat into smaller bite-size pieces. I also added about a cup of sliced mushrooms, and those added to the deliciousness!! Thanks crock pot girl!!
I doubled the recipe so I’m wondering if I can leave on longer?? 5-6 hours ?
Mary if your crock pot was 1/2 to 2/3 full it should be done at the same time. Hope this helps, Happy Crocking!
Thank you so much for this recipe. I am a college student in a dorm with a kitchen. I saw your pumpkin post on Facebook and decided to see what other things you had. I saw this and immediately left the room to get the ingredients and throw it all in my Crock Pot. The smells are wonderful! My neighbors have already asked for a plate. Super easy. Super convenient. Super yum. Thanks!
Thanks Lilly for posting, you now have inspired many college students, I am sure! Happy Crocking!
This recipe looks delish! Im going to make it tomorrow and add fresh mushrooms. I didnt see butter noodles at the store but found egg noodles that look like the picture. Hope its the same or similar! Im a mommy of twin babies so this is great and easy!
LaDonna congrats on the twins…. my sister-in-law has twin boys, lots of fun! The egg noodles will work fine! Happy Crocking!
I have a programmable crockpot with settings of 4 or6 hours on high or 8 or 10 hours on low. I’m not able to cook on high for one hour, what would you recommend?
Amanda just crock on Low for the full time. High only gets you to desired temperature quicker. You may need to add a little time at the end… Thanks for the question, and Happy Crocking!
What size crock pot is used for theses recipes??
Hi Cheryl Ann, this particular recipe I used my 4-5 quart crock pot. Happy Crocking!
I figured that might work, thank you. Making it tomorrow!
I used apple ale in place of beer and they came out amazing! Thanks for the recipe! 🙂
Great Heather…. Thanks for your feedback, and so glad it was a hit! Happy Crocking!
I made this tonight. The whole family loved it. Iv tried several of your recipes, so far we have loved them all thanks for posting such easy to follow yummy recipes!
Ashley thank you for the kind words…. This is music to my ears!
I think I will try this. I have a package of cooked stake strips I didn’t know what to do with and I think this is a good way to use them. I am going to halve the recipe because I am a single. but sound good
thanks for the good idea

Hello!
I am interested in trying this, but am not a big fan of cream cheese. Can you recommend a good substitute?
Thank you!
Sharon
Made this with fresh onion (which I softened in a little olive oil before adding to the slow cooker) rather than onion soup mix and it was gorgeous!
Absolutely delish. I bought 2 lb London broil and cut in cubes. I also added sliced red onion and a container of sliced portobellos. I cooked on low for 6 hours and served over egg noodles and steamed spinach. Will definitely keep this recipe as a favorite. Thank you for the recipe.
Is it possible to substitute ground beef?
Make this recipe your own! I love it when others change a recipe up, just be sure and post back and let us all know how YUMMY it tasted! Happy Crocking!
I am getting ready to make this recipe today for the first time. It calls for 10.75oz. can Condensed cream of Mushroom. I only have 2 – 10 3/4 oz cans so my question is how much of that do I use?. I am not very good mathematically speakng or measuring wise. If anyone can answer me that would be ever so hopeful !!…ASAP’ to be able to start the recipe’ !!. Thanks’ !!….:-)
Hello Stephanie the recipe calls for 1 can that measures 10.75 oz., or 10 3/4 oz. (both meaning the same) so you will only use one can. Thanks for the question, and Happy Crocking!
Could you please tell us how you derisive your nutritional values?
I’ve always used sour cream in my stroganoff, so now I gotta try it with the cream cheese and see which one we prefer! Thanks for this easy recipe!
Excellent and so easy. I added fresh mushrooms and onions during the first hour on low and then added frozen broccoli. Served over noodles and a side of salad…yum, I have a new easy go to dinner. Thank you and keep up the great work. 🙂
It mentions water as the first thinig you stir together with other ingredients, but there is no mention of water (and how much) in the list of ingredients. Or did I miss it?
Forget my earlier comment. Now that I look at it, I bet the beef broth is what goes in (not water).
